Pres. P. Rubin gave a brief summary of the events of the year concerning the Hunt. The highlights were the grant from New York Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, the successful HMPC Bench Raffle, the Pennies From the Middle School Program, the grant from New York State Senator Boniciac, the Preserve New York Grant and the dinner dance to come. Pres. Rubin gratefully acknowledged the many letters and donations that have been received by the HMPC, noting that many have come in from distances far from Ellenville, confirming the importance of the preservation of the Hunt. Vice Pres. S. Bradley introduced the guest speaker, Village Manager Elliott Auerbach, who gave an intro dealing with a non-conforming sparrow that was quite a hit with the crowd. The Village Manager on a more serious note spoke about the possibility of many grants becoming available in the Village, specifically the Main Street Grant Program. Pres. P. Rubin asked the group to please acknowledge M. Dumond for all the work she had done as the previous President. M. Dumond told the group about the Village of Ellenville’s Historic Preservation Committee, stating that the Hunt building is the first to be listed. M. Dumond asked that anyone interested in helping to organize a similar committee for the Town of Wawarsing please call the Town offices. Vice Pres. S. Bradley told the group that Napanoch is seeking Historic District listing similar to the hamlet of Cragsmoor. I. Rosenthal mentioned to the group that it would be a wonderful time to renew membership. S. Rubin asked for all to start listing email addresses when filling out applications. Pres. Rubin thanked all for coming and their continued support of the "jewel and centerpiece of Ellenville". Motion to adjourn M. Dumond/S. Rubin.
